Learning is structured in consciousness; A stage of learning is dependent on the level of consciousness.

Learning
It is well established that there are different degrees of learning as well as differing phases of learning.  It is important to recognize that learning about external material things, including learning about all internal, material aspects of the body and thought processes, is quite different from learning about your own mind.  You can not learn about your mind as material because it apparently defy such exploration.  Most  of us analyze our minds via the objects, although they are ephemeral in nature, we entertain. This, as you can readily perceive, is no more than analyzing material not the mind. Evolutionary learning brings the mind front and center not as an object but as subject. However, it is useful to get a picture of the various stages of knowing.  Figure below shows a clear progression of "mind" from completely relying on sensory  inputs to relying on "Knowing" in the way saints mean it.
